Irnham Hall wedding

Donna & Luke at Irnham Hall

On Saturday 23rd June I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Donna & Luke at Irnham Hall near Grantham.

I’d never photographed a wedding at Irnham Hall before so I was particularly excited for Donna & Luke’s big day.  Irnham Hall itself dates back to 1380 and is home to Jamie, Leila and their children.  Jamie and Leila were on hand all day to make sure everything ran smoothly and what a great job they did.  The village itself is one of the most beautiful stone villages in Lincolnshire.  Along with the hall there is the The Griffin Inn where Paul (my second photographer) and I met Luke and several of the guests.  A couple of doors down the street I found Donna, getting ready in a a beautiful stone cottage with the bridesmaids.   When Donna was ready her brother drove her the short distance to the hall in her Mazda MX-5.  I did my best to keep up.

After the service in the orangery the rest of the day was spent in the walled garden and the magnificent summer house where the wedding breakfast would take place.  It was a beautiful summers day which meant the newlyweds and guests could mingle outside where there was plenty to do including garden games, a guitarist, ice-creams and plenty of drinks and nibbles.  It was such a relaxed day with a fantastic, fun-loving group of people.  Luke’s beloved collie Chip made a guest appearance too and it was fun getting some snaps of him as the children chased him around the gardens.

Luke & Donna’s wedding was an honour to be a part of.  They are such a lovey couple and made Paul and I feel very welcome as we went about documenting their big day.  Wishing them all the very best for the future as husband and wife.  I hope you enjoy this selection of pictures from a wonderful day…..
