On Saturday 3rd June I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Becca & Isaac at Burleigh Hill Farm near St Ives.
Before getting to the barn there was the most important part, the ceremony at St Mary’s church in Bluntisham. The girls had got ready at Becca’s mum’s house and the highlight for me was watching the video Isaac had produced for Becca as a surprise for the morning of her wedding. Several special guests came on with messages of congratulations and memories of the bride to be. It was great fun to watch and to see Becca’s reaction to it. Becca had prepared a “Groom Survival Kit” for Isaac and my assistant Vaida was with the boys while Isaac opened his present. It looked like the boys were having a great laugh as they got ready for the day ahead.
The vicar at St Mary’s was great. She let me shoot the service as I wished and I even spotted her taking pictures with her phone too. A very trendy vicar! The service was great and afterwards it was out into the glorious summer sunshine for lots of hugs and kisses as everyone congratulated the new Mr & Mrs.
The rest of the day took place at Burleigh Hill Farm. It’s one of the biggest barns I’ve ever worked in and the couple had put so many personal touches to the decor, it looked amazing. There was plenty of time for family photos, mingling with the guests and a glass or two of fizz before the barbecue. Ricky the magician had everyone entertained and the tricks he performed with the couple in front of all their guests were amazing. Great stuff!
Becca & Isaac joined me for some pictures after the wedding breakfast. By now the light was good and we found some great spots for pictures around the grounds. As usual the day had gone by in a flash and before I knew it the couple were cutting the cake and having their first dance. I love shooting the dancing in a barn, the background always looks amazing as you can see in the pictures.
Wishing Becca & Isaac all the very best for the future as husband and wife. I hope this selection of pictures will help tell the story of a lovely day…..
