Jo & Damian’s London wedding

On Saturday March 16th I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Jo & Damian in London. Boy this was a windy one! On this particular occasion storm Gareth was determined to make my life difficult. I recall watching Jo’s veil fly through the air at least twice in the short time we spent outdoors. Thankfully Islington Town Hall, where the couple tied the knot, has a lovely interior with some beautiful corridors to use for photos. After the ceremony some of Jo & Damian’s friends paid a surprise visit to the town hall armed with confetti canons. It Read More

Carly & Dave at The Haycock

On Thursday February 28th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Carly & Dave at The Haycock Hotel in Wansford near Peterborough. “Ryan, we’re having an Owl as ring bearer”  “What!?” “Yes, it’ll fly the rings down the aisle and then the best-man will take them and give them to Dave”. I spent the next few weeks thinking of all the things that could go wrong with this scenario.  I wasn’t worried about the owl doing his thing.  I was worried about me, doing mine. Here’s the situation – small target, moving fast, in a dark environment, and Read More

Robert & Ashley

On Saturday 23rd February I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Robert & Ashley. I doubt I’ll ever shoot a wedding quite as close to home as this one. Robert & Ashley live about 70 metres from me and they decided to hold the ceremony at the village hall just around the corner. I was delighted when they asked me to shoot their special day. And a special day it certainly was. Full of laughter, emotion and joy, surrounded by all the colours of the gay rainbow. The day started at a lovely B&B in March and then Read More

Jess & Tyler at South Farm

On December 27th I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Jess & Tyler at South Farm A Christmas wedding is always good fun, with the extra excitement and joy that the festive season brings. The bridal suite at South Farm was buzzing; with a bride, six bridesmaids and four flower-girls to get ready, plus a couple of mum’s, hair and make-up artists (plus me) it was certainly lively. Tyler and the boys got ready at his mum’s in Cambridge. My second, Nikki met up with them after they’d started the day with the traditional fry-up. The lads were Read More

Kelly & Toby at The Red Barn

On Saturday 25th August I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kelly & Toby at The Red Barn. I photographed Toby’s brother’s wedding (Lee & Kara) last year so I was delighted when Kelly & Toby asked me photograph their big day.  After getting to know them and their beloved dogs at their pre-wedding shoot on the beach earlier in the summer, I couldn’t wait to photograph the wedding.  I met Kelly & the girls at dad’s house in March where they were excitedly getting ready for the day to come.  While I was with the girls my Read More

Sheree & Lee at The Old Hall

On Friday 24th August I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Sheree & Lee at The Old Hall near Ely. Another great day at The Old Hall, this time with the lovely Sheree & Lee.  My only worry going into the day was the the weather, it was very windy and there was the threat of rain.  Thankfully the rain stayed away long enough for the newlyweds to enjoy the outdoor ceremony they’d been wishing for.    For me it was nice to stay dry but the wind was playing havoc, having no mercy for hair-styles, dresses and Read More

Rebecca & Paul & Southwood Hall

On Saturday 11th August I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Rebecca & Paul at Southwood Hall near Norwich.   It was my friend Sue who recommended me to her daughter Rebecca.  With Rebecca, Paul and the boys (Liam & Mason) living in Canada it was always going to be difficult for them to find a photographer, but Sue had met me many times in her role as a civil celebrant.  So thanks to Sue for the introduction!  With just two weeks to the big day Rebecca & Paul left the thousands of acres they farm in Canada Read More

Sabrina & Matthew at Stubton Hall

On Saturday 14th July I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Sabrina & Matthew at Stubton Hall near Grantham. I’d never photographed a wedding at Stubton Hall before and was really excited about going to a new venue.  Wow, what a venue!  Such a lovely setting and in the middle of one of the warmest summers I can remember, it was going to be a great day. No expense had been spared in making sure Sabrina & Matthew’s big day was one to remember.  The highlight for me was the surprise singing waiters who came on after the Read More

Bethan & Tom at Irnham Hall

On Saturday 7th July I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Bethan & Tom at Irnham Hall near Grantham. I think Bethan felt a bit cursed when her wedding day fell on the same day as England’s world-cup quarter final against Sweden.   After all, she booked her wedding first!  Come 4pm and there was the odd mobile phone tuned into the match but the day was such a lovely, fun and happy occasion that I don’t think people were particularly bothered about the game.  And besides, since then England have lost the semi-final, France won the cup Read More

Donna & Luke at Irnham Hall

On Saturday 23rd June I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Donna & Luke at Irnham Hall near Grantham. I’d never photographed a wedding at Irnham Hall before so I was particularly excited for Donna & Luke’s big day.  Irnham Hall itself dates back to 1380 and is home to Jamie, Leila and their children.  Jamie and Leila were on hand all day to make sure everything ran smoothly and what a great job they did.  The village itself is one of the most beautiful stone villages in Lincolnshire.  Along with the hall there is the The Griffin Read More
