On Good Friday, April 14th I had the honour of shooting the wedding of Kayleigh & Stephen at The Haycock near Peterborough.
Kayleigh & Stephen are a great couple and, with their two daughters Sadie & Scarlett, they make a lovely family. I’d got to know them all better a few weeks earlier at their pre-wedding shoot and was looking forward to seeing them all again for the big day. This time not only was Kayleigh joined by the two girls but also sisters and nieces too, making seven bridesmaids in total! Stephen’s part of the bridal party was a bit more simple, with him and his two best-men.
It was a lovely afternoon so after the service everyone got outside for drinks and canapés while I captured as many candid moments as I could. I love this part of the day when the couple are feeling more relaxed (relieved?) after the formalities of the service and everyone wants to be the first to congratulate them. Not only were there lots of guests and family to aim a camera at but there was also lots of details and decorations for my assistant Nikki & I to capture. Kayleigh had done all the venue dressing herself and she had thought of everything! From a candy cart to a photo booth Kayleigh had done an amazing job!
The wedding breakfast concluded with some great speeches from Kayleigh’s mum and little brother, Stephen and the best-men. And then the newlyweds joined me for some pictures around the grounds of the venue for some pictures. For me the day ended with the first-dance but this was no “ordinary” first-dance. The couple’s niece (a professional dancer) suddenly burst onto the dance floor and performed an amazing routine. It was a high energy spectacle which was amazing to witness and certainly something I’d not seen before. Great stuff!
Wishing Kayleigh, Stephen, Sadie and Scarlett all the very best for the future. Please enjoy this small selection of pictures from the day…….
