On Saturday 23rd September I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Rebeca & Euan at Slepe Hall in St Ives.
Rebecca is the niece of my good friend (and “Wonder-Florist) Corinne Turner. So I was thrilled when Corinne recommended me as the man for the job of shooting Rebecca & Euan’s big day. I got to know them better at their pre-wedding shoot in their home town of Lincoln and couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive.
I met up with an excited bride and equally excited bridesmaids at Rebecca’s mum’s house in March, conveniently less than half a mile from St Wendreda’s Church where the ceremony would take place. While I was with the girls my second photographer Vaida met up with Euan and the groomsmen at Slepe Hall. The girls had a fun morning and if Rebecca was feeling any nerves I couldn’t tell.
St Wendreda’s is one of my favourite churches, it’s beautiful, has some interesting architecture and open grounds which are ideal for photos. A bonus is the vicar there is very “photographer friendly” and always lets me shoot the service as it unfolds. And it was a fantastic service to be a part of, I could tell the groom thought the bride looked amazing as she walked down the aisle.
After the service there was time for plenty of photos before heading of to Slepe Hall for the rest of the day. The wedding breakfast concluded with some great speeches then it was time for the evening entertainment. There was a great band which had everyone (including me) jumping up and down on the dance floor, the first dance, cake cutting and even Lionel Richie (x3) joined us. I understand Rebecca is a bit of a fan.
Wishing Rebecca & Euan all the best for the future as husband and wife. I’ll let the pictures tell the story better than I ever could…..
