On Sunday May 26th I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Steph & Simon at The Old Hall near Ely.
I first met Steph when she was bridesmaid for Fliss and Ross at their wedding back in 2013. Fast forward nearly six years and it was Steph and Simon’s turn to tie the knot, and they chose the fabulous Old Hall near Ely to celebrate their big day.
And what a day it was. The weather threatened to spoil things but there was no chance a fun-loving couple like these two were going to let the chance of a shower affect their big day. So whilst the ceremony took place indoors the rest of the day was celebrated outside and the weather got better and better. In fact, I was thrilled to bits when I spotted some awesome dark clouds off in the distance in the evening. With some glorious sunlight on the couple it made for some great shots.
The highlight of the day for me had to be the beer-pong match. Steph and Simon even bought their own official beer-pong table. And what a match it was! Wearing their specially made aprons the newly-weds fought each other in a spectacular beer-pong battle which was absolutely brilliant to witness (and photograph!). And whilst it was a great spectacle it was a bit of a one-side affair. Steph thrashed him!!
Steph and Simon’s big day was great fun from start to finish. They were one of the most relaxed couples I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph, and along with a great bunch of family and friends it was an honour to be a part of their special day.
Wishing Steph and Simon all the best for the future. I hope you enjoy this selection of pictures from a fantastic day…
