Alex & Josh

On Sunday 11th August I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Alex & Josh in Bedford.

I enjoyed Alex & Josh’s wedding for many reasons but most of all I liked the fast that they simply did it their way. After a lovely service at the town hall, they and just over 30 of their closest friends and family made their way to the local park for a meal in the Pavillion at the park. When I say they “made their way to the park” Alex & Josh actually travelled in the surprise horse and carriage that Josh had arranged for Alex. The rest got taxis! I’d tried to outrun the horses on the journey to the Town Hall but I was never going to do it twice, so I went in my car!

After a lovely afternoon at the pavilion everyone headed off to the venue for the evening entertainment – the Auction Room. It’s a fantastic cocktail bar in the town centre and made for the perfect setting for the evening party. Josh’s brother did the food with his Guerrilla Kitchen catering van – it made for some great shots and the food looked amazing!

The newlyweds and I had planned to go down to the riverside for some pictures before the party got in full swing, but of course the rain came at exactly the wrong time. So feeling pretty miserable, I was delighted when Alex said “yeah, let’s do it anyway”. So we jumped in my car and off we went to a spot that I love. And fortunately the beautiful trees provided all the shelter we needed to get the shots. Yay!!

Alex & Josh’s wedding was a lovely, relaxed day with a really lovely couple and a fantastic bunch of friends and family. It was great fun and an honour to be a part of. Here’s a selection of pictures from the day….
