On Saturday 5th May I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Jess and Soha at Orton Hall Hotel in Peterborough.
Some serious mileage was clocked up for this big day. With Jess’ family coming from Peru and Scotland and Soha’s dad making the trip from Korea it was a truly global event. The couple themselves live up the road in central Peterborough and I was delighted when they chose me to photography their wedding. I’ve shot many at Orton Hall and it’s always a venue I look forward to going back to.
The day was really relaxed and for me and my second Paul it was an opportunity to capture lots of candid moments in a reportage style. We loved it. The guests helped, with Jess & Soha and their friends providing plenty of fun moments to enjoy. A great bunch who clearly knew how to enjoy a party. With Jess being a scientist and Soha being a GP they had clearly worked extremely hard to get where they were in their careers. They had met their friends at university and I was well aware I was surrounded by some very clever people!
On the subject of parties, for me the day ended with some fabulous cèilidh dancing. Of course it’s one of those dances that very few people know how to do naturally. Fortunately the band were on hand to instruct and entertain and it was great fun to see everyone getting into the spirit of it.
Jess & Soha’s wedding was a lovely day and an honour to be a part of. Wishing the newlyweds all the very best for the future. I hope you enjoy this selection of images from a great day….
