Jody & Duncan at The Haycock

On July 20th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jody & Duncan at The Haycock hotel in Wansford near Peterborough. I’ve shot many weddings at The Haycock over the years and it’s a venue I always enjoy going to. There’s so many good spots for photos, so it’s great for a snapper like me! Jody & Duncan are a really lovely couple and their big day was exactly as I expected – relaxed, great fun and simply a pleasure to be a part of. There was plenty of laughter throughout the day and it was very obvious Read More

Sarah & Jack at Bassmead Manor Barns

On Friday 10th May I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Sarah & Jack at Bassmead Manor Barns. This was my second wedding at Bassmead Manor in a fortnight and once again I was looking forward to shooting at such a fab venue. This one was a little bit extra special as Jack is family! His dad Barney is my cousin, so it was a lovely opportunity to catch up with family that I don’t get to see often. It was a lovely relaxed wedding with a great bunch of people. Sarah and the girls were great, from Read More

Michelle & Mark at Bassmead Manor Barns

On Sunday April 28th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Michelle & Mark at Bassmead Manor Barns near St Neots. The popular saying is you wait all day for a bus then two come along at once. Well the last time I shot a wedding at Bassmead it was April 2010. Nine years later and I photographed two in a fortnight. This was the first and it was worth the wait. The venue has changed a lot over the years, so much so I hardly recognised it. I got there an hour earlier than I need to Read More

Adam & Eve at the Peterborough Marriott

On Saturday April 20th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Adam & Eve at the Peterborough Marriott. When I’m thinking about my couples, and whenever I’m saving images to my computer I have a simple system – bride’s name first, followed by the groom. If I do it the same way every time it makes it a bit easier to find images amongst the millions I’ve taken. So in my head this lovely couple have always been Eve & Adam. It took me approximately 350 years to work out that if you swap the names around you Read More

Nichola & Matthew at Belton Woods

On Saturday 13th April I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Nichola & Matthew at Belton Woods near Grantham. Nichola & Matthew are the second couple this year who live just round the corner from me. So I was honoured when these two lovely fellow-villagers chose me to shoot their big day. Belton Woods is a great venue. I’d done a few wedding fairs there over the years but this was my first time shooting an actual wedding. Being a golf course there are plenty of good spots for photos, although it’s best not to ask the bride Read More

Beth & Martin at Stoke Rochford Hall

On Friday 12th April I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Beth & Martin at Stoke Rochford Hall. Beth, Martin and the children (Evie, Dylan & Dexter) are a lovely family and I was delighted when they asked me to photograph their big day. And Stoke Rochford is a fabulous setting for such a special occasion. It’s a venue I’ve been to many times over the years and I always look forward to working there. The whole day was really relaxed with a great bunch of family and friends. It gave me plenty of opportunities to capture the Read More

Sarah & Adam at Toft Country House

On Saturday April 6th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Sarah & Adam at Toft Country House Church weddings are great, but there’s always one thing in the back of my mind – will I be able to park? As the photographer I’m always second-to-last to arrive at the church (the bride’s last), and by the time I arrive what little parking is available is usually taken. If I have to park a mile from the church it doesn’t bother me at all, I don’t mind the walk, it’s just being away from the action that worries Read More

Jo & Damian’s London wedding

On Saturday March 16th I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Jo & Damian in London. Boy this was a windy one! On this particular occasion storm Gareth was determined to make my life difficult. I recall watching Jo’s veil fly through the air at least twice in the short time we spent outdoors. Thankfully Islington Town Hall, where the couple tied the knot, has a lovely interior with some beautiful corridors to use for photos. After the ceremony some of Jo & Damian’s friends paid a surprise visit to the town hall armed with confetti canons. It Read More

Carly & Dave at The Haycock

On Thursday February 28th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Carly & Dave at The Haycock Hotel in Wansford near Peterborough. “Ryan, we’re having an Owl as ring bearer”  “What!?” “Yes, it’ll fly the rings down the aisle and then the best-man will take them and give them to Dave”. I spent the next few weeks thinking of all the things that could go wrong with this scenario.  I wasn’t worried about the owl doing his thing.  I was worried about me, doing mine. Here’s the situation – small target, moving fast, in a dark environment, and Read More

Robert & Ashley

On Saturday 23rd February I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Robert & Ashley. I doubt I’ll ever shoot a wedding quite as close to home as this one. Robert & Ashley live about 70 metres from me and they decided to hold the ceremony at the village hall just around the corner. I was delighted when they asked me to shoot their special day. And a special day it certainly was. Full of laughter, emotion and joy, surrounded by all the colours of the gay rainbow. The day started at a lovely B&B in March and then Read More
