Southwood Hall wedding

Rebecca & Paul & Southwood Hall

On Saturday 11th August I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Rebecca & Paul at Southwood Hall near Norwich.

It was my friend Sue who recommended me to her daughter Rebecca.  With Rebecca, Paul and the boys (Liam & Mason) living in Canada it was always going to be difficult for them to find a photographer, but Sue had met me many times in her role as a civil celebrant.  So thanks to Sue for the introduction!

With just two weeks to the big day Rebecca & Paul left the thousands of acres they farm in Canada and came back to Norfolk where they grew up, ready to marry in front of their closest friends and family.   I met them ten days before the wedding, taking the chance to meet them and the boys for the first time, have a look round the venue and take a few snaps for their pre-wedding shoot.

Southwood Hall itself is crowned by a beautiful grade II thatched coronation barn and is recognised as one of the UK’s best countryside wedding venues.  It’s certainly a fantastic location for a wedding, surrounded by the beautiful Norfolk scenery.

The wedding day itself was a lovely relaxed occasion with one of the nicest couples you could care to meet.  They are kind, friendly and it’s clear they make each other very happy.  My job was never going to be difficult with such a lovely couple.   They were joined by a fantastic group of friends and family too, who helped make the day very special and who certainly made us feel very welcome.

As I type this Rebecca & Paul are back home, working on the farm and preparing for another infamous Canadian winter.  Wishing you all the very best for the future as husband, wife and family.  I’ll let the pictures tell the story of another lovely wedding which I was very honoured to be a part…..
