On Saturday 29th April I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Cambria & Aidan at The Old Nene Golf & Country Club near Ramsey.
I couldn’t wait to edit this wedding. Why, I hear you ask? Well on the way home from the wedding it occurred to me that Cambria had literally beamed and laughed ALL DAY LONG. Had I imagined it, I wondered. No, the pictures later proved that she literally didn’t top smiling from start to finish. If something went sideways (such as the cake that slowly did a “Leaning Tower of Pisa”) Cambria didn’t bat an eyelid. What a diamond!! And this is surely the best way to enjoy the biggest day of your life – keep smiling!
Aidan would be the first to admit that he’s not the biggest fan of being in front of the camera. But Amy (my second photographer) got the best out of him and the rest of the boys, and the images tell me he had a pretty amazing time too. Although in fairness if Amy told me to smile I’d smile too! It’s best to just obey.
The day was a perfect wedding from start to finish. Beautiful weather, a great venue and a wonderful couple. It was also an absolute treat to see the couple’s handsome labrador Bruce at the wedding. He even attended the ceremony and took pride of place on the cake.
The Old Nene makes a great setting for a wedding and I always enjoy working there. In my younger days I spent all my waking hours chasing a little white ball around the course and all those hours looking for a stray tee-shot certainly revealed some great spots for photos. The venue gave Aidan the keys to a golf buggy and he seemed delighted to be out cruising around, while Amy and I did our best to keep up.
Cambria’s wedding was the second wedding I’ve done for the Steward family (Eve’s wedding to Adam was first) and once again I was hugely honoured to play a part. Thanks so much for inviting me to be your photographer!
Wishing the new Mr & Mrs Payne all the very best for the future as husband and wife. I hope you enjoy this small selection of pictures from a fantastic day…..
