On Saturday 26th May I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Lauren & Brady at Rutland Water Golf Club.
I used to play a lot of (too much?) golf. And in all the years I played, I never knew this course existed until Lauren & Brady booked me to photograph their big day there. Like all good boy scouts I like to be prepared. So the day before the wedding I had a drive over to the course where the very friendly staff gave my a buggy so I could check out some good spots for pictures. By the time I left I felt ready for action and already knew where I’d photograph the family photos (a spot with decent background, facing away from the sun).
Less than 24 hours later I found the bride and an excited bunch of bridesmaids getting ready in the venue’s bridal suite, along with with little flower girl Lottie and mum Tracey. If Lauren was feeling any pre-match nerves she hid it well. Meanwhile the boys were getting ready at the couple’s home in Coates so my second photographer Paul headed there for some “getting ready” pictures. The lads were keeping calm with game a Fifa and a cuppa!
The service itself took place at Normanton Church on the edge of Rutland Water, just a 5 minute drive from the golf course. It’s a great place for a wedding ceremony and I always look forward to photographing there. After the service it was out into the beautiful afternoon sunshine for hugs, kisses and bubbles (the type you blow, not drink) before heading back to the golf course for the rest of the day.
Lauren & Brady’s wedding was a lovely relaxed wedding with a fab couple and a great bunch of friends and family. I also got to see something I’d not seen before. During the wedding breakfast each table was nominated with a “head chef” who was tasked with carving the roast beef. It was great fun and you could soon tell who the experts were! The speeches followed and they were very funny. Especially best-man Ritchie’s who’s surprise gift made for a great prop later in the evening. Check out the vintage policeman’s helmet!
Wishing Lauren & Brady all the very best for the future as husband and wife. Please enjoy this selection of pictures which will help tell the story of another wonderful wedding……
