Toft Country House wedding

Sarah & Adam at Toft Country House

On Saturday April 6th I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Sarah & Adam at Toft Country House

Church weddings are great, but there’s always one thing in the back of my mind – will I be able to park? As the photographer I’m always second-to-last to arrive at the church (the bride’s last), and by the time I arrive what little parking is available is usually taken. If I have to park a mile from the church it doesn’t bother me at all, I don’t mind the walk, it’s just being away from the action that worries me. On this particular occasion there was an added stress factor to all this – the fun fair was in town. And the centre of Stamford was chaos! With the congestion in mind I parked half a mile from the church and walked, fearing that by the time I arrived the ceremony would be over and the newlyweds would be half way across the world on honeymoon!

It’s funny how you worry about these things. As it happens I was at church a good 15 minutes before Sarah. In plenty of time to capture her arrive in a beautiful modern Rolls Royce, a surprise gift from her brother and his fiancĂ©.

Despite the traffic, it was well worth it – All Saints Church in the centre of Stamford is beautiful. It was a lovely ceremony conducted by a fab vicar who was happy to let me photograph the occasion as it unfolded. Afterwards I enjoyed capturing lots of natural shots of the happy couple mingling with their guests and passers-by.

And then it was off to Toft Country House near Bourne for the rest of the celebrations. It’s a venue I’ve been to a few times before and one I enjoy going to, the new staff there were excellent and really helped to make the day run as smoothly as possible. I enjoyed taking Sarah and Adam onto the golf course for some pictures. The venue very kindly organised some golf buggies for us and I enjoyed snapping away as Adam terrified drove his new wife around the golf course.

Sarah and Adam were great fun and it was an honour to shoot their big day. Along with Adam’s son Aiden they are a lovely family and I’d like to wish them all the very best for the future. I hope you enjoy this selection of pictures from a wonderful day….
